Members of the PHARA team participated in the 2025 IEEE Radar Conference held in Krakow, Poland, from October 4-9, 2025. The team took part in a special session dedicated to polarimetric weather radar, held in memory of the late Professor V.N. Bringi, a pioneer in radar meteorology, who was renowned for establishing polarimetric Doppler radar as a key tool for studying precipitation and improving weather forecasting. 

In addition, PHARA researchers were involved in two important papers presented at the conference: 

Cognitive Weather Radar - presented by Apostolos Pappas, with contributions from PHARA team members Alexander Yarovoy, and Marc Schleiss. The work explores intelligent adaptive systems for advanced weather monitoring. 

Weather Radar Data Quality - presented by Jonas Heylen, featuring contributions from PHARA team members Tworit Dash, Rob van der Meer, Yankı Aslan, and Alexander Yarovoy. The research addresses fundamental challenges in ensuring accurate and reliable meteorological measurements. 

The team’s participation at the IEEE conference reflects PHARA’s commitment to building awareness within the international radar community of their efforts to develop Europe’s first 3D phased array weather radar for advancing the understanding of extreme weather phenomena.
