{"id":666,"date":"2025-03-26T12:14:39","date_gmt":"2025-03-26T12:14:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/phara.tudelft.nl\/?p=666"},"modified":"2025-03-26T12:14:40","modified_gmt":"2025-03-26T12:14:40","slug":"phara-at-prepep-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/phara.tudelft.nl\/index.php\/2025\/03\/26\/phara-at-prepep-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"PHARA at PrePEP 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Advancing high-resolution radar for better precipitation forecasting<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the <strong>PrePEP 2025 conference<\/strong> in <strong>Bonn<\/strong>, PHARA members <strong>Remko Uijlenhoet, Marc Schleiss<\/strong>, and <strong>Tworit Dash<\/strong> from <strong>TU Delft<\/strong> joined a global community of researchers and practitioners dedicated to advancing precipitation estimation and prediction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While the conference covered a broad range of topics beyond radar, one message came through clearly: the <strong>urgent need for high-resolution observations<\/strong>, particularly for <strong>fast-evolving convective systems<\/strong> responsible for <strong>heavy rainfall and flooding<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PHARA&#8217;s contribution to this challenge lies in its <strong>innovative phased-array radar technology<\/strong>, developed to deliver the rapid, fine-scale data required for real-time monitoring and forecasting of precipitation.
